Welcome to the website of Dutch pianist Oliver Franks who works and lives in Sweden.
Oliver Tom Franks (2000) is a Dutch-British pianist from Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Having been educated as a teenager at the specialist Purcell School of Music in London, Oliver went on to combine his pianistic studies with a degree in Arabic and Classics at the University of Oxford, spending time in Tunisia, Lebanon and France.
In 2022, he left university in order to devote himself entirely to his work. He has given concerts in The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, France and Switzerland. Although choosing to limit his public appearances, preferring instead to spend his time teaching and working at home, he was praised by local media as “a young pianist not to be missed” after his French début in 2022.
In 2024 Oliver moved to rural Sweden, where he now lives with his wife, Margot.
He receives occasional mentoring from professor Jianing Kong (Royal College of Music, London).
In the summer 2025 he will be participating in the Semaine internationale de piano in Blonay, Switzerland and in the Hvide Sande Masterclass in Denmark.
Oliver would like to thank the municipality of Vetlanda for awarding him a generous cultural scholarship.
